I am very grateful to Luke Couture, who started by gaining a thorough understanding of me by obtaining a history of physical activities and injuries, as well as imagery of my current condition. He designed an appropriate, sequential and development program and reliably supervised my progress as I worked through it. Luke understands that I am a low performance athlete. I like physical activity and participate in a variety of activities. It's just that I am too weak and clumsy to be an elite athlete. Atrophy during COVID, injuries, arthritis and total hip joint replacement contributed to physical vulnerabilities that I could not address by physiotherapy alone. Luke has an impressive professional knowledge of his craft. The programs he designed for me were demanding enough to enhance my ability to reach personal goals and make everyday tasks much easier and reliable. His observations and recommendations during weekly video chats ensured that I completed the programs properly and maximized the benefits. He understood me well enough to know how hard to push me, probably his greatest asset as a trainer. Luke described the concept of kinetic linkages during our conversations. It became clear that disruption of kinetic linkages had made me less capable, and that the restoration of those linkages have allowed me to reach my real-life goals. The unassisted balance needed to hike through forests emerged within three months of starting the program; surprisingly this balance also worked in deep snow and icy conditions. I remember the first day I mounted the bicycle after years of having lost that capacity: it was an emotional moment. Luke Couture has the professional knowledge and background to be an excellent personal trainer. He is also a special person, with rare patience and empathy skills that make his knowledge work for his clients.
